Trase data shows that in 2020, just 388 of a total of 3,386 -producing municipalities accounted for 95% of Brazil’s deforestation (between 2016 and 2020). Despite this concentration, these municipalities represented 42% of Brazil’s production in 2020 (4.3 million tonnes) and 52% of exports (1.3 million tonnes).
